A full range of habitat assessment services are offered, from baseline survey assessments, to the establishment of a long-term monitoring programme (site identification, protocol design, initial baseline surveys, project report), with the option of retaining us on an annual basis to build up a temporal span of data. I prefer to conduct these assessments using in-water diver survey techniques if conditions allow. In deeper areas, or regions where diving is not possible, drop camera systems or flying arrays are recommended. Habitat assessments are also available using aerial imagery collected via drone, backed with rapid ground truth survey work. Although some conclusions can be drawn with a snap-shot baseline survey, temporal data are essential if trends and therefore adaptive management are to be identified and implemented. To help facilitate this I also offer full survey training for client staff, which can include species identification courses and divemaster supported dive training if requested.
