Katouche Bay, Anguilla

Katouche View Anguilla

This view from the top of North Cliffs, over Katouche Bay in Anguilla, is one of my favourites. It has to be one of the best views the island has to offer, and is a great place to sit and watch sunset with a cocktail or frosty cold beer, after a long day of exploring, swimming and generally feeling too hot! The beach in the foreground is Katouche Bay, but in the distance can be seen Crocus Bay and Little Bay Marine Park, both of which are at the top of my list of special places to go. Later this year, Little Bay Marine Park will be opening a snorkelling trail, installed and maintained in partnership between the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources, and the Anguilla National Trust. With lobster casitas currently being build and an interesting trail planned, this is set to be one of the top marine attractions for non-divers. A must see!

This has to be one of my favourite areas in Anguilla, with a wild naturalness not found anywhere else on the island: a forest with iguanas, monkeys, tortoise and hermit crabs; great snorkelling both at Katouche and Little Bay; regular turtle sightings as they pop up to take air; and then in contrast great affordable food and drinks provided by Davidas Beach Bar (who also offer well priced kayak and paddle board rentals for those feeling like working up an appetite). Perfect.
